Picture 1 Out of Conference Games to Watch – Coastal Division

The ACC has often received flack for its inability to produce big wins in recent years. Of course, the conference took a needed step in the right direction last year when the top four bowl seeds all won. Florida State dispatched Northern Illinois for their first BCS bowl win since the Sugar… Ok, still too soon. Clemson defeated LSU in a thriller in Atlanta. The Hokies failed to out-suck the Scarlet Knights in a game only the true faithful could stomach. Lastly, Georgia Tech dispatched an unfocused USC team in the Sun Bowl.

USATSI 5863716 Virginia Tech and Michigan Schedule Future Series

Virginia Tech's Athletic Director Jim Weaver continues to solidify Virginia Tech’s out of conference schedule in football for the next 10 seasons. On Thursday, Michigan’s official website broke the news that they had scheduled a home and home series with the Hokies beginning in 2020 with a game in Ann Arbor. In 2021, Michigan will travel to Blacksburg to face the Hokies in Lane Stadium.

CapitalProjects Indoor Practice Facility Is Last Piece To The Facility Puzzle

I'm a facilities guy.  To be one of the best programs in the country you need to have the best facilities in the country.  The Hokies will inch closer to that sometime in the next year when construction on a new indoor practice facility gets under way.  Of course, this has been a heated topic over the past 12 months.  Those who are proposed to save "Stadium Woods", which is a small strip of forest just behind Lane Stadium consisting of trees that are over 300 years old, have derailed the plans to build the new facility right behind Tech's practice fields.  It's unclear whether or not that's still the intended location.

DaShawn Hand Recruiting Topics: A Look At The Latest

The Hokies are entering a particularly active recruiting stretch with seven of our coaches out on the road visiting prospects. We’ve seen reports of Coach Moorehead traveling down to Florida to visit some of Tech’s recruiting targets in the Sunshine State. Most of which just so happen to be wide receivers. Shane Beamer has visited Richmond. Cornell Brown was up in New Jersey visiting several prospects up there before swinging through the 757 where Bryan Stinespring joined him.

Corey+Fuller+Virginia+Tech+v+North+Carolina+qQS3ysBzbBll Virginia Tech NFL Draft Recap

The Hokies entered this NFL draft hoping to have three players drafted off of last year's 7-6 team.  Unfortunately, only two players received the phone call of relief on Saturday.  Corey Fuller was drafted with the 171st overall pick and will head to Detroit.  As I detail below, I think that's a pretty good fit for him.  Detroit doesn't have a lot of talent at wide receiver besides Megatron giving Fuller a good shot at making the roster and a great shot of at least making the practice squad.  The other Hokie drafted came just two picks later when the Denver Broncos selected Vinston Painter.

h03 1321933141 Travon McMillian Makes It Official

On Saturday, 247Sports broke the news that Travon McMillian had committed to Virginia Tech. Unfortunately, I don’t think the northern Virginia native intended for that news to get released. He had a press conference scheduled for Thursday and would announce his decision then. Out of respect, every Tech sports blog waited until today to go public with the news. So, props to all VT bloggers and beat writers for being classy.

Go back through the record books and you’ll find countless examples of brothers, cousins, father and sons, and even cousins who have followed in their relatives footsteps and played for Virginia Tech. Four Star Athlete C.J. Reavis Commits to Virginia Tech

by JustinC April 22, 2013

Even though the well-known 757 area remains a battleground, you might as well build some maroon and orange walls around the city of Richmond. On Saturday, Tech landed a commitment from four star C.J. Reavis, who may be the best overall player from the city of Richmond in this 2014 recruiting class. At the very [...]

Stout Defense Highlights Tech Spring Game

by JustinC April 20, 2013

Those in attendance hoping to see a fluid first team offense destroy a 2nd string defense obviously left disappointed on Saturday. Logan Thomas threw three interceptions and no touchdowns on the day. The first string offensive line struggled to block the 2nd string defensive line at times today. Lastly, the offense as a whole was [...]
