1.29p grimes Going, Going, Gone!Earlier this afternoon, Mike Barber of the Richmond Times Dispatch posted a blog informing the Virginia Tech fanbase that Jeff Grimes had accepted the offensive line coach position at LSU.  Grimes was hired last January when the Hokies wanted to overhaul their offensive staff and only spent one season in Blacksburg.

This is the 2nd time in his career that Grimes has only spent one season with a program.  He left his job in 2001 as Boise State’s offensive line coach to take a position with Arizona State.  In fact, Grimes has never stayed in one place very long with his previous stint at Auburn being his longest tenured position at four seasons.

For the Hokies, this means Tech will have to find a new offensive line coach to help rebuild an improving offensive line.  They’ll also need to hire this person soon to avoid what could be a disaster on National Signing Day.  Tech has five offensive line commitments in this 2014 class, however at least one will likely decommit.  Brady Taylor is visiting Ohio State this weekend and with Grimes on his way to LSU, there’s very little hope for the Hokies to retain him.

A few names that will likely pop up in the next few days will be Baltimore Ravens Assistant Offensive Line coach Todd Washington who is a VT alumnus, Chris Malone who served as OL coach at JMU when they defeated Virginia Tech in 2010 as well as an OL Graduate Assistant here at VT in 1999 and 2000, Boston College Offensive Line coach Justin Frye who coached with Scot Loeffler at Florida and Temple, and Andy Moeller who is currently the Assistant Offensive Line coach along with Washington for the Ravens.  Moeller also served as OL coach at Michigan during Scot Loeffler’s tenure with the university.

We need to hire someone by the end of next week to avoid the mass exodus of oline recruits. Brady is as good as gone! Washington would be a great hire however I don’t believe he will take the job because tech doesn’t pay with the exception of bud. Justin frye would be an excellent hire!

I was one the Grimrs bandwagon beforw the season started buy after learning more about him prior to the sun bowl…I quickly jumped. Some red flags start popping up.

I give him 3 years at LSU.

In looking at Grimes tenure at his different stops, he never stays anywhere very long. He must be trying to build his resume to become a head coach at some point in time. imo, this doesn’t look good on him to jump at every new offer he gets.

Sites provide the perfect forum for showcasing talent, personality and
passion for the industry. ” That way they can
build links to wherever they want whenever
they want. This is the most powerful traffic generation technique I’ve EVER come across.

If you consider a Writing or Internet Marketing Career,
Squidoo and Associated Content are great places to get started.
Basically, just as there are no two flourishing high street retail outlets that
look precisely the same, Facebook has given the
go ahead for business owners on Facebook to be able
to take their campaigning to new levels by creating exceptionally distinctive
and content rich pages that may be compared to
Word – Press sites or even Squidoo lenses. Unfortunately, these images are still fresh in our minds.
