With 44 days left until the Virginia Tech Hokies square off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, we turn our attention to #44 on the roster Mr. Christian Reeves. With a full spring practice under his belt, Reeves will need to good summer preparation to find himself in the two-deep this fall at split end. You can tell the game was still a little fast for him this past spring but he has improved since he first enrolled here. Reeves is a name to watch for the future and with some hardwork this summer, he could find himself in that coveted 6th receiver spot on the depth chart.
The Scoop
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 210 lbs
Position: Split End
Year: R-Freshman
High School: Eagles Landing Christian
How Did He Get Here?
As a Georgia native, Reeves didn’t have much of a connection to Virginia Tech. But, the Hokies were the best BCS school to offer him a scholarship so the Eagles Landing Christian star jumped at a chance to play in the ACC. Reeves committed to Virginia Tech on June 15th 2010. He held offers from Air Force, Buffalo, Furman, UCF, Western Kentucky, and Western Michigan.
2011 Season Rewind
Reeves redshirted last season.
2012 Prediction
Even though Reeves was projected to be a tight end out of high school, he’s spent his entire first year at Virginia Tech as a wide receiver. Armed with a big body, long arms, and soft hands, Reeves is a good prospect. He still needs to adjust to the speed of the game. That’s something he struggled with this spring but the cure for that is more reps in practice. He’s definitely a name to watch out for this fall if Demetri Knowles struggles to lock down that 6th wide receiver spot on the depth chart.
As it stands, Reeves could become a starter in 2013. One would think Joel Caleb probably already has his name penciled in for a starting job in 2013,
especially if he plays well. But the other two spots are wide open. If the Georgia native can pick up some valuable reps this fall, who knows maybe Reeves can win one of those jobs next year. He has the size but he just needs to prove to the staff than he can be consistent.
Completely Made Up Fact
I would be lying if I didn't admit that the Hokies were very high on Reeves due to his family ties.

Hopefully he can turn into a Danny Coal type. Does anyone know what 247sports said about Derrick Green and Tech, their is a new article but you have to be a member to read . I hope its about clemson taking another 2013 Running Back that should help us big time. It looks like Fuller left clemson without commiting very good for us hopefully he commits to Tech soon.
I can’t post pay info on here as that would violate VTScoop’s terms of service. But I can say things are trending in a positive direction for him in regards to VT. It helps that Clemson picked up a 4 star RB today and Alabama is full at RB as well. May come down to VT and Ohio State.
