Is RW Sick? Also, Check Out TailgateFever.com
I'm sure everyone is jacked up for tomorrow's Virginia Tech vs Georgia Tech football game in Atlanta. I was in Atlanta this week and there is a serious buzz about the game, they are calling it the biggest game for Yellow Jackets in 10 years. I've blogged many times about the fact that I usually have a gut feel about most Hokie games, not that its always correct, but I usually develop a sense of which way the game will go after a week of reading articles, blogs, and forums. This is one of those games and one of those weeks that for which I really don't have any instinct for how the game will go.
Of course that almost changed when I heard that Ryan Williams was pretty sick this week.
Ryan Williams is Ill
An article in the Washington Post reported yesterday that Ryan Williams has been ill this week and it has affected his practice. He is listed as probable, and I'm sure will play, but the question is how much it will affect him. I heard from a pretty good source tonight that Williams was still pretty ill as of tonight.
A the beginning of the year, we all knew that Tyrod Taylor would be the single most important Hokieto play each week, but you could argue that Williams has become right up there. I think Josh Ogelsby is very capable, but Williams is simply a game breaker that can make up for the periods of when the VT offense is lacking production.

Its going to be critical that VT run the ball tomorrow. Georgia Tech's defense frankly is not good, and it needs to be taken advantage of, first because points are going to be necessary to match a potent GT offense, and second to keep said offense off the field. Let's hope its Williams illness is not an issue.
Hokie Update at TailgateFever.com
I've also blogged about this site before, but its worth re-mentioning. The Hokie Updatehits my mailbox every Thursday or Friday of game week and I usually dive right in. I still have no idea who writes this column (maybe someone can introduce me), but if you are not reading it you should start right away. It's pure enjoyment for Hokie fans.
The author mixes humor with analysis of Hokie football, plus related topics like Wahoo football, conference banter, and an on-going feud with Jim Weaver primarily over game start times. You will thuroughly enjoy it.
Go Hokies!!!
