In getting caught up with the Virginia Tech Women's Basketball team today, their season so far looks fairly similar to what the men's team has done. Last night they played the #4 team in the nation - Duke - valiantly but came up 5 points short. They sit at 8-8 and 0-3 in the ACC and badly in need of a win streak and some premier wins if they want to get into postseason.
Just a quick look at their results and schedule shows that while they did well in non-conference play (8-5), beating the teams they should beat, they had a few bad losses to IUPUI and SMU. Also, they failed to get some quality wins coming up short against power conference opponents Wisconsin and #17 Vanderbiltl. Does this sound familar?
Hopefully they can pick it up in conference play (same goes for the men) but they are already in a 0-3 hole.
