Happy Holidays to all the Hokie Fans. Being the day before Christmas, I thought I'd share my Holiday Wish list as it relates to Virginia Tech Sports. As usual, we have it better than most with Virginia Tech Athletics, but there are always plenty of things to ask for when sitting on the Hokie Santa lap.
Note that some of these are personal...
- An Orange Bowl Victory. I'd like the Hokies to act like the team who is used to playing in BCS bowls, and making Cincinnati feel like the newcomer to these types of big games. I'd like to deal with these player absences, deal with the past distractions of bowl week, and get the ACC off this BCS bowl losing streak.
- A New Virginia Tech Golf Shirt. My wife thinks I have too many, but they all seem frayed, old, faded, or have some out-dated logo.
- A Hokie Hoops Team that Gels. Those of us that have been watching the VT hoops team probably all feel it. This is a talented team that is teetering. They are either going to gel and get much better, or they are not.
- Offensive Infusion. Yeah, we all know football coaching changes won't happen, but I keep hoping some new Tight End Coach, Wide Receiver Coach, Trainer, Water Boy, or someone will get added to the staff by necessity, and will bring some fresh thinking that opens Franks eyes and slowly starts making a difference.
- A Year with No Football De-Commitments. This rarely happens, but the commit list this year is lean, so locking down all the committed recruits this year would be nice. If the Hokies can close on 1-2 more targets, that would be nice as well.
- A Virginia Tech Fathead. This will be even more complicated with the wife as I discuss hanging on the basement wall.
- Al Groh to Hang on at UVa. He is just too perfect of a rival head coach. Continuous 5-7, 6-6, 7-5 seasons would be just swell. Though I am worried he will hire some new assistants who actually know what they are doing.
- Virginia Tech Jerseys - No More Throwbacks or Orange tops. I just don't like the throwback uniforms and the Orange jerseys are simply unwatchable. Please stick to the sharp looking, modern maroon and white versions.
- A Great Seat and Great Tailgate on September 5. Virginia Tech and Alabama in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta should be a great way to start the season. Here's to a weekend of good friends and good football down south.
- Bud Foster. Stick around as long as possible.
- Hokie Nation. Continued pride and accomplishment that comes with being associated with what I'll always consider the nation's best university and fan base: Virgina Tech. Go Hokies.
Happy Holidays, Everyone.

Dude, you are one of the best.

Need to keep the committs and add a couple at needed spots. Merry Christmas!
