So the news out of CFB's Tuesday's press conference was that Ryan Williams, freshman running back, is redshirting. A very knowledgeable football coach once told me most talented freshman running backs can 
learn rushing plays (i.e. what hole to hit and who to follow) pretty quickly, but what takes months of learning are blocking schemes especially on blitzes. And since this has to be perfect on every play (or your QB gets ploughed and/or fumbles), it makes it tough to play frosh RBs.
But the other news of the day was Josh Oglesby's interview with Darryl Slater, where he expresse frustrations with not playing enough. You can read the details for yourself, but net-net, he's a talented kid who played well in pre-season so we heard. Makes you wonder what USC goes through, didn't they have 10 deep at RB a few years ago? Call me one that wishes we had tons of talent wishing they got on the field more. Wouldn't it be nice - 3rd and 4th string offensive tackles good enough to start in the conference stuck deep in the Hokie depth chart? "So and so R-So Linebacker" discouraged because he's only playing special teams? Here's hoping for more talent and not enough playing time.
